Detroit punk band Death had a long hiatus between their formation and subsequent breakup in the Seventies and their rediscovery in 2009. Now, the band is releasing “Relief,” their first new single since 1976. “The message of the song is rock & roll brings on relief,” said bassist Bobby Hackney, “Relief from the mundane, relief from the ordinary and definitely rock & roll has always been associated with relief from work.” Death is in the midst of working on a full-length album and is planning tour dates for this year as well.
