Deerhunter is currently deep into recording its fifth full-length LP at Brooklyn’s Rare Book Room Studio. The Georgia band installed custom mood lighting for its late-night sessions, which often stretch until 6 a.m. “We’re living in neon lights,” says frontman Bradford Cox. “We bring a fog machine everywhere we go. A lot of what happens is one large experiment with color and light and sound.”
