Not only was the show told out of sequence, it was shot out of sequence. Half of the stuff is on green screen. There are scenes where there are two characters talking to each other. On one side, it’s Jason Bateman in July, and on the other side it’s Portia in November. It was these crazy, crazy things where everybody had to say, “Wait, she hasn’t gone to that party, so she wouldn’t have that makeup on, therefore … “

In eight years on SNL, Hader has unquestionably left his mark. His impressions of Al Pacino, Vincent Price, Alan Alda, James Carville and many more, were spot-on; his original characters like TV reporter Herb Welch, Italian talk show host Vinny Vedecci, and countless game show hosts, are unforgettable. But no performance of Hader’s has elicited as big an audience reaction over the years as his portrayal of the New York City correspondent for Weekend Update, Stefon. And it was only right that the writers gave Stefon a proper NYC send-off, filled with just about everyone he’s talked of at the desk over the years.

The Roots released their debut Organix 20 years ago today. Whatever they have become, they are at least the most substantial part of the rock and roll army, a ‘movement’ which is as much American as it was English. Apart from the significance of what he says in relation to the Who as one of the best, most creative and influential rock and roll groups in England, Townshend, perhaps more than any other single figure in music – and because of the Who’s unique relationship to the accompanying social movement – understands and articulates the “meaning of it all.”

Happy 68th birthday Pete Townshend! Click above to read our 1968 interview where Townshend discusses his guitar smashing techniques, why he does it, the mod revolution in England and narrated the story of his next record, which would become Tommy.

See Ron Burgundy keep it classy in the trailer for Anchorman 2:...

See Ron Burgundy keep it classy in the trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

Take a look at the ultimate The Office blooper reel - nearly two...

Take a look at the ultimate The Office blooper reel - nearly two hours of all the actors breaking character and scenes going off the rails.

Just as Marvin Gaye moved from What’s Going On to...

Just as Marvin Gaye moved from What’s Going On to Let’s Get It On, from the austere to the ecstatic, Janet, every bit as serious-minded as Marvin, moved from Rhythm Nation to janet., her statement of sexual liberation.

In their short run, Joy Division left behind two classic albums that bridged the gap between punk and new wave: 1979’s Unknown Pleasures and 1980’s Closer, both masterpieces of a dark, gloomy style of rock dubbed the Manchester Sound.
