It’s Oscar season, and guess who isn’t pleased with the Academy’s nominations this year? Yep, our very own Peter Travers. In a special edition of Damn You, Hollywood!, Travers rants about the selections for Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role and Actress in a Leading Role.
According to Travers, the biggest snub of the year was Drive. Not only was the film ignored for Best Picture, but its leading actor Ryan Gosling was also passed over for Actor in a Leading Role. And it doesn’t end there. Travers argues that Bridesmaids, Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton were snubbed this year as well.

Hey girl, did you know it was Ryan Gosling’s birthday?
The actor/musician/dog lover/street fight breaker-upper/meme-inspirer turns 31 today. Swoon-worthy since he first appeared in 2002’s Murder By Numbers, the versatile actor was most recently spotted at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest filming his new movie Lawless (and hanging backstage with Slayer’s Dave Lombardo).

It’s a well-known fact that Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza is pretty hot — but apparently, she’s even too hot for Ryan Gosling. In a recent photo shoot for Rolling Stone’s Hot List issue, the budding actress revealed that she “unknowingly” shot down Mr. Notebook himself one night at a juice bar.
“I didn’t recognize him. He said, ‘I’m a big fan of the show,’ and I said, ‘Thank you. Are you an actor?’ He kind of smirked and said, ‘Yeahhh…’ I asked his name, and he said, ‘Ryan,’ but it didn’t click. I was like, ‘We worked together, didn’t we? You look so familiar. He kept smirking, like I was messing with him. I got my juice and left.”
